Generally, digital camera lanyards cannot be purchased at standard retailers.  You may have to search at the manufacturer's web site or other online vendor, such as Amazon.com.  You can also make your own digital camera lanyards from other device lanyards or even common household items.  When it comes down to it, you want to use the digital camera lanyard that comes in the box.  But if you threw it out when unboxing, you may have to invest in a new one and it is well worth the small price you pay for securing your digital camera.
