When to buy things on the Auction House

If utilizing the Auction House to help build up a character, it is crucial to know when to shop.  Depending on your realm and what you are looking to buy, this can fluctuate but a general rule of thumb is that the busiest time on any server is during the weekend mid-afternoon to evening hours.  Before making a buy, check the prices of all items you are looking for and compare them.  If you are buying a stack of items, ensure it is a full stack.  Many sellers try to trick players into making purchases by changing values and stack counts in the hopes that someone makes a mistake.  Since users keep making those mistakes, sellers keep doing it without hesitation.

How to use the Auction House

In order to use the Auction House, you want to visit one of your faction's capital cities or one of the three neutral ones scattered across Azeroth.  The neutral houses allow for you to bid on items put up by the opposite faction but since these are not used as frequently as your own faction's, the easiest choice is to venture to one of your capital cities.  When you pull up the Auction House, you will be able to search for the item you desire or simply browse items.  You can click to see items that your character can use at their current level as well to make weeding through things easier if browsing.
