How to Lead a Dungeon Group

Why lead a dungeon group?
If you start your own dungeon group
in World of Warcraft, you generally have an idea of what you want to do or
accomplish in an instance. If this is
the case, you will have to set the pace and give direction on how you want
things to go. Normally, when you start your
own dungeon group, you visit the dungeon manually as opposed to utilizing the
Dungeon Finder Tool to fill out spots in a group. Leading a dungeon group offers you the
opportunity to help guide members through an instance. A tank usually steps up to be the dungeon leader so they can set the pace.
How to lead a dungeon group
The first thing to remember when leading a dungeon group you created is that you may be expect to explain encounters. If you run a dungeon you do not fully know, you may be in for trouble when it comes time to tackle a boss. Make sure you are prepared for the dungeon run by watching videos on boss fights, taking a look at a map of the dungeon and filling your dungeon group with aware and viable players. Make sure to spell out any issues that arise, such as tanks not holding aggro or healers failing to keep up the pace.
Tips for leading a dungeon group
When leading a dungeon, do not be afraid to speak up especially when things are going wrong. You are there to lead your group to the end of the dungeon and successfully complete an instance. Only by being confident and explaining things to your group will you be able to do that. If you see a problem arise, address it immediately so as not to continue wiping or failing to make it through a particular area of a dungeon. Being a Dungeon Leader or Party Leader may end up bringing out the best in you along with those you are leading through an instance.
