What is Wii Tennis?
Wii Tennis allows up to four people to simulate a single match, best of three or best of five matches. You can do play singles or doubles, against a computer or against other players in their Mii guises. During a match, you will receive and serve along with playing the back or front of the court depending on how you want to return the ball. Wii Tennis is one of the harder Wii Sports to play, because precision and accuracy is more important than the other sports bundled with the game.
How to play Wii Tennis
For Wii Tennis, you only need to secure the Wii Remote via wrist strap before you begin playing. If you have ever played Tennis before, you know there are two primary types of swings: Forward and your backhand. For a forward swing, you simply throw your Wii Remote forward while holding it. For a backhand, you swing it across your body from left to right (if you are right-handed) and vice versa for a left-handed gamer. You will have to serve and return during the game. In order to serve, you toss the Wiimote into the air and swing forward like you would hit a tennis ball.
Tips and tricks to playing Wii Tennis
The most important trick when playing Wii Tennis is that it is all in the wrist, especially when serving. If you want an ace, you want to make sure you flick your wrist with more force than you normally would to return a shot. You can hit the ball many ways when playing, such as left, right, up, down and diagonally. In order to catch your opponent off guard, you want to change up how and where you hit the ball during returns and when serving. Keep your eye on the tennis ball and judge the best type of shot; sometimes you want to utilize your net person but sometimes it may be best to see if the ball is shot out.
