Battle.net has introduced an authenticator that can be tied to a WoW account to add another level of protection. This authenticator prompts you to enter a six digit code to access all services; so even if someone gets a hold of your password, they cannot access your account without the authenticator in their hand as well.
What to do if a World of Warcraft account is compromised
If you suspect your World of Warcraft account has been compromised, immediately contact Blizzard by phone. While it may frustrating to wait for customer service to take your call, the sooner you alert them to the problem and prove it is your account, the easiest it will be stop any damage the hacker may do to it. Do not delay contacting Blizzard. This will only make matter worse in trying to recover your World of Warcraft account and associated Battle.net services.
