How to Recharge a Wii Remote

A Wii Remote is the primary controller for the Nintendo Wii video game console system.  The Wii Remote utilizes other peripherals to interact with Wii video game software.  The most common type of peripheral is the Nunchuk, which the gamer holders and generally uses to move their character in-game while the Remote functions as the primary button controller.  The "Wiimote," as it has been dubbed, utilizes motion sensing which gives users the chance to interact directly with their games.

The Wii Remote directs a signal as it moves around to a sensor bar connected to the Wii console.  Once the Remote is calibrated to the Wii or the game itself, you will be able to play in an atmosphere unique to the Wii.  In shooter games, for example, you will be able to line up a target and take your shot more accurately than using a conventional controller.  The Wii Remote can also be used like an old school gaming controller when it comes to games purchased on the Virtual Console.  Using peripherals decreases the amount of battery life for the overall Wii Remote; they rely on the Remote's battery to power it when connected.

The Wiimote uses double A batteries or rechargeable battery packs to keep powered up since it is a wireless controller.  If you choose to use double A batteries, this can be costly as the Wii Remote drains them quickly.  Using rechargeable batteries can be slightly cheaper, but if you forget to charge them, you will be out of luck if your Wiimote dies mid-game.  Many companies offer Wii Remote chargers and a rechargeable battery back that hooks up directly to the console in many cases.  As soon as you are done gaming, you simply sit the Remote into the charger and let the Wii do the work for you.
