Why use your credit card on the Nintendo Wii?
There are two ways to make purchases in the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console store: With Wii Points and with a credit card. Wii Points can be purchased at video game stores and electronic retail locations. They come in various amounts and can be entered into the Virtual Console to make purchases without putting in a credit card number. However, if you do not want to rush out to get Wii Points, you can simply save your credit card number to your Nintendo account and then make purchases that are directly charged to it whenever you see fit.
How to use a credit card on the Nintendo Wii
In order to use a credit card on the Nintendo Wii, you want to navigate to your Wii Shop and the Virtual Console. You want to click on Start Shopping, then go to Add Wii Points. This is where you can choose to either use Wii Points from a store or purchase them with a credit card via the console. Choose Buy Wii Points With a Credit Card and click on it. From there, you want to choose how many Wii Points you want, once selected you will be asked to make your purchase. Say yes, then you have to choose the type of card you are using, enter in the credit card number, the expiration date and the security code on the back. When everything is entered correctly, you will be able to make your purchase. The Wii Points purchased will be available immediately for you to spend on the Virtual Console.
What can you buy with your credit card on the Nintendo Wii?
As long as you have enough Wii Points, you can purchase anything on the Virtual Console. This includes old school games from the Nintendo Entertainment System to the Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, Atari and beyond. You can also purchase Wii Ware, which is Nintendo-based games and software to use on the Nintendo Wii. Once you make your purchase, you can begin playing games immediately. So whether you want to splurge on The Legend of Zelda Series, Super Mario Bros. or another game you grew up playing, Wii Points are the way to do it.
