Headphones are one of the niftiest inventions on the planet. You put headphones on or in your ears and you are one with your music without sharing it with the world. The rest of the world appreciates that, and a good set of headphones can breathe new life into your favorite music. When it comes to storing headphones, you have to learn how to do it so you do not ruin them. Headphones are easily ruined and learning how to wrap them properly can keep them from being destroyed.

When you buy a new set of headphones, you want to check on what they come with. Some come with carrying cases, some come with extra buds or jacks; if the headphones come with a carry case, that is the best way to store headphones instead of wrapping them. If you choose to wrap headphones, you want to do so in a way that protects the jack and the portion connecting to the headphones themselves. You can do this by wrapping the wires around your device and leaving a little bit under wrapped at the jack and headphones areas. This keeps them from being pulled tight and ripping the wires inside apart.

You can also protect the jack and headphone area with a small bit of duct tape to remind you where to stop wrapping. It takes some practice to learn how to wrap headphones just right, so do not be afraid to try. If wrapping headphones is not for you, you can opt to buy a case. If you cannot find something that fits your headphones, using a Ziploc bag can also be an effective way to store your headphones from damage while on the go. Wrapping headphones is an easy way to keep them out of the way when out and about but until you get the hang of it, you want to focus on protecting your headphones the best way you can.
