How to Write Feedback on eBay

eBay feedback allows sellers, buyers and casual observers to see how user rate on the web site.  Feedback is left after every transaction by both parties.  This feedback can be positive or negative based on how smoothly the transaction went down.  Issues from pricing, shipping and improperly described items can cause issues during a transaction.  Generally, each party leaves feedback after the transaction is complete.  This means once the seller receives the item, they leave feedback for the buyer and vice versa.  This feedback determines an eBay user's reputation which gives others the opportunity to choose who they do business with.  A low feedback rating in the negative will force other users to steer clear of them and vice versa.

When it comes to positive feedback, you want to explain exactly what made the transaction positive.  If it was quick shipping, seller disposition or just the entire transaction, simply state that.  You do not want to spend time explaining in great detail what made the experience positive.  Instead, you want to focus on the highlight of the transaction and explain that concisely.  This gives other eBay users an idea of what to expect from another user.  Positive feedback helps boost eBay user reputation and keep things running smoothly during future transactions.

Before writing negative feedback on any transaction, take the time to contact the user and see what happened.  Many eBay users rush to write negative feedback and find themselves on the receiving end of a fight between the other user they have an issue with.  If you cannot resolve the differences, then negative feedback is the only way to explain what happened.  Make sure to take the time to explain exactly what happened and only list the facts.  Negative feedback can be a messy situation for users, so be as exact as possible and leave out an emotions when writing it.  Otherwise, you may find yourself defending your negative feedback or being blacklisted by other users who think you acted immaturely.
