Spirit Tracks

Legend of Zelda: Spirits Tracks is the latest release in the franchise.  It will be released on December 7, 2009 and is available for pre-order at most video game retailers.  It will be the 14^th release in the Legend of Zelda series and will feature similar game play to The Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass.  It will be available on the Nintendo DSi but is compatible with any DS in the handheld line.

Nintendo has been hush hush about the story behind Spirit Tracks, but from the trailer debut at E3, Link will be using a train to get around as he adventures. Link appears to be an engineer going through an apprenticeship roughly a century after the turn of events in the Phantom Hourglass. Link seems to work hand-in-hand with a character resembling the Phantom Guardians from the previous handheld game in the series. Princess Zelda, possibly Hyrule Castle and Link dressed in his green tunic all appear in the trailer as well. However, since Nintendo has released very little details about the plot, it is very well possible the details will change before the release as more information comes out.

For starters, it is a new Legend of Zelda game, and that always gets me excited!  There is nothing like the anticipation of playing the new game, the second you get it out of the box and plug it into your system.  Those first few minutes, watching the title screen and starting your game play no matter what game you play is exciting for any video gamer.

Spirit Tracks will be released for the Nintendo DS during the holiday season of 2009.  You will be able to find it at most major retailers, online and through Nintendo.  Since this will be one of the most anticipated games of the year, it is best to pre-order if you want it for the holidays.  Otherwise, you might find yourself without the latest Legend of Zelda title to play when you want it the most this year.
