What is Demonoid?

Demonoid is a BitTorrent tracker web site.  It was created in anonymity by a Croatian developer known on the Internet as Deimos.  It is considered a semi-public torrent tracking service as only users invited to the service by other users can sign up and use the site.  Once registered, you can browse, search and download torrents to use in a program that supports them.  Currently, Demonoid hosts more than 250,000 torrents in a variety of categories.  There is something for everyone at Demonoid and taking advantage of the site is a great way to find some amazing torrents.

How to get a Demonoid invite

Under the current set-up, the only way to get a Demonoid invite is from a current Demonoid user.  Users get invites based on the amount of time they have been on the site, their share ratio and how many torrents they have uploaded themselves.  Once they have invites, they can send them or give them away as they see fit.  Do not believe the hype from people who claim secret ways to get onto Demonoid or who offer ways to get invites other than just sending them to you.  These our more than likely scams.  Unless you get a legitimate invite to Demonoid, do not jump on board.

Is using Demonoid legal?

Demonoid allows users to find torrents for them to download using another program.  The service offers high quality downloads that are virus checked and as secure as torrents can be.  You can find torrents for music, movies and more.  Demonoid also tracks the upload/download ratio of each user so you can see what you are taking and what you are contributing.  Previously, Demonoid banned users who had a low sharing ratio, and the way bit torrent works the more people who seed a file, the more people can download it.  Demonoid makes that a little easier for everyone using the site by keeping track.
