Wii Motion Plus Review

What is Wii Motion Plus?
If you are playing Wii Sports Resort and are without the Wii Motion Plus add-on, you are missing out. Wii Motion Plus was specifically designed to coincide with the release of Wii Sports Resort to give gamers a more accurate game play feel. When Wii Motion Plus is added to your Wii Remote, it gives you a greater depth of movement, response time and control between the controller and the Nintendo Wii sensor bar. This means that your movements are captured more accurately and transmitted to be re-enacted in game much more seamlessly. This makes game play much more exciting and realistic as opposed to being choppy and sometimes slow depending on the type of action you are doing and whether or not the Wii Remote and sensor bar translate it appropriately.
Does it really help?
Have you ever played a Wii game where you tried to move one way but the game responded differently? Even though your movement was correct, the game did not know what to make of it and something else happened. The Wii Motion Plus add-on seeks to correct that for video games designed to work with it. Eventually, Nintendo will release the next version of the Wii Remote with built-in Motion Plus support so an extension of it is not needed. Until then, the Wii Motion Plus helps rotational movement, quicker movements and the response time between Wiimote and sensor bar. For those games it works with it, it will add much-needed support for those other movements previous games do not know what to do with.
Is it worth adding to your Wii collection?
When it comes down to it, if you are playing a Wii Motion Plus title, you will need the Motion Plus add-on to play it properly. While you can play it without, you may have issues with certain movements you may need to perform. You can get Wii Motion Plus for $20 in most places, and it simply plugs into the bottom of your Wiimote like the Nunchuk during game play. It is an inexpensive way to get much needed support when playing games that require better movement control.
